Hayden Oglesby is an Australian sculptor based in the Blue Mountains, originally from the Central Coast.
Hayden has spent his life surrounded by national parks and the ocean, and draws deep, enduring inspiration from the natural world. It was in his hometown that Hayden met his mentor, who introduced him to the art of abstract timber sculpture.
Working intuitively, Hayden guides asymmetrical forms toward balance and harmony, allowing the natural material to lead the process. His organic timber sculptures—initiated by nature and refined by hand—extend the abstract beauty of the natural world.
Hayden’s work evokes a sense of awe and invites quiet contemplation through the portal of sculpture. He also incorporates plant life into some of his interior works, creating living designs that hold the restorative power of nature.
His sculptures have been exhibited across Australia, including at Manyung Gallery (Melbourne), Gang Gang Gallery (Lithgow), Rex-Livingston Art + Objects (Katoomba), and the Sculptures in the Garden exhibition in Mudgee.
